How do I calculate the number of lights I need for my Christmas tree?
A general rule of thumb is to use 100 lights per foot of tree height for a well-lit tree. For example, a 5-foot tree would require around 500 lights. However, the desired brightness and personal preference also play a role to decide the number of lights needed.
Can I use outdoor Christmas lights indoors?
Yes, you can use outdoor Christmas lights indoors, but you cannot use indoor lights outdoors. Indoor lights are not made to stand outdoor conditions. Use outdoor rated lights for exterior decorations.
What Christmas lights are best to use outdoor?
When it comes to outdoor Christmas lights, it is important to use the lights that are specifically made for outdoor use to ensure the safety. Connectable lights are an excellent choice for outdoor use. They can be easily extended by connecting multiple strings together which allows you to cover a wide range of spaces, both large and small, without the need for multiple power sources. Moreover, they are easy to install and requires very little effort that makes the setup process simple and quicker.
How to connect outdoor LED Christmas lights together?
You can connect Christmas lights together that come with a male and female connector. Simply remove the end cap and connect another set of lights. Please check the product description to know the maximum number of sets you can connect together. For our low voltage lights, you need a transformer as stated in the product description.
Please note: You cannot connect the low voltage Christmas lights with mains voltage lights. You can only connect low voltage lights with our low voltage lights and mains voltage lights with our mains voltage lights.
You can also use our T-connector and 5 way splitter to bring outdoor Christmas lights in different directions. Our 5 metre extension cable allows you to give 5 metres of extra length before the first set or between the sets.
When should I put up my Christmas lights?
Putting up Christmas lights is a matter of personal choice. However, some people love the festive spirit and choose to start early, while others prefer to wait until closer to Christmas. In many places, it’s a tradition to start decorating for Christmas after Thanksgiving. Some people start putting up Christmas lights as early as November. This allows them to enjoy the festive atmosphere for a longer duration.
Do Christmas lights use a lot of electricity?
No, modern Christmas lights use LEDs that are much more energy efficient. For example 5 metres long icicle lights with 100 LEDs use only 6W of energy that will cost you only €0.59 for an entire month* based on 5 hours use per day at a high rate of 65 cents per kWh. Can I leave outdoor Christmas lights on all night?
Leaving Christmas lights on all night is generally safe as long as you are using outdoor rated lights. Also, make sure to use LED lights as they are more energy efficient and reducing the risk of overheating.
